“There was an experience where I pushed myself, two teachers gave me cards saying they were proud of me. That was a loving feeling I’d never had before.”
Students had opportunities to work through problems in their own lives and come up with meaningful solutions. There was plenty of freedom to work and plan, but also enough direction from the facilitators to keep things moving or provide an alternative view.
